This article will help you get a clear idea about the different types of tiles available on Bulzaar so that you can choose the one that best suits you.

Ceramic Tiles

Ceramic Tiles

Ceramic tiles are mainly composed of natural clay, minerals, water, and chemical additives. All these ingredients are mixed, moulded, pressed and then heated at high temperature to form a tile. There is another type of ceramic tile:

  • Glazed Ceramic Tile

An additional layer of glaze(similar to glass) is added during the heating process.

These tiles are easy to install and are stain-resistant as they can be easily cleaned with a mop or cloth. They generally have a natural or earthy appearance.

Vitrified Tiles

Vitrified tiles are a type of ceramic tile. They are primarily made by fusing clay with silica with the addition of quartz and feldspar. These tiles have a much smoother surface and are much less porous than ceramic tiles. As they go through the vitrification process, they are much stronger and more scratch-resistant than ceramic tiles. There are three types of vitrified tiles:

  • Soluble Salt Vitrified Tiles

These tiles are printed with screen printing technology and then polished. Usually, there are not many designs available in this type. And the tiles are mostly ivory based. The price range is between Rs. 35 to Rs. 80 per Sq. Ft. depending on the colour.

  • Double Charge Vitrified Tiles

These tiles are fed through a press that prints the pattern with a 3-4mm thick double layer of pigment. They have more designs than a single charge tile because of the 2 layers. The price range for these tiles varies between Rs. 50 to Rs. 100 per Sq. Ft.

  • Glazed Vitrified Tiles(Digital Vitrified Tiles)

These tiles are finished with a glazed surface, which is then digitally printed. This allows them to have numerous patterns and looks, such as designs that mimic wood, bamboo, marble and so on. They are also known as "GVT" or "Digital Vitrified Tiles". The price range for these tiles varies from Rs. 70 to Rs. 150 per Sq. Ft.

Vitrified tiles are also available in large sizes which offer fewer joints and give a magnificent appearance.
